Paul Baron is a hands-on Sales, Marketing, Strategic Partnership and Business Development Executive with 4 decades’ experience launching startups, designing and executing ‘go to market strategies’ for growing companies, and building high-performing teams that have generated over $1Billion in sales. Paul thrives in rapid growth, high energy environments, and values a diverse culture with good people who like to dream big, work hard and have fun. Paul leads with positivity, humor and humility. He has personally developed and launched successful startups. His own innovative concepts include 2 restaurants in New York and Florida, 2 sporting goods retail stores, a software development company delivering a communications software solution that was licensed and distributed by Samsung and AT&T, a patented screwdriver design, and an online community news and advertising web based franchise publication serving over 500 cities nationwide.


After successfully managing the operations, facilities, and implementing new technology infrastructure for sales, mfg & distribution, accounting, fulfillment, e-commerce for a NJ plastics manufacturing company, Paul recently turned around this 60 year old plastics manufacturer, identifying a buyer for the company; Similarly, Paul recently supported the growth and exit of a consumer product manufacturer and online retailer in Wilmington, NC. Paul currently works as a contract hands-on advisor to socially-conscious fashion lifestyle brand HALF United in Wilmington, and the non-profit animal shelter and rescue software developer To Your Rescue with process improvement and fund-raising activities.


At UNCW, Paul is a guest lecturer and provides internships that give students experiences to extend classroom learning into the real world. He is a mentor at Wilmington incubators tekMountain and UNCW’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE.) Paul serves on several advisory boards including those at the CIE, UNCW’s School of Entrepreneurship, local non-profit organizations, and privately held businesses in Wilmington, Atlanta, NY, Russia, and Israel.


Paul lives in Wilmington, NC with his wife Maureen, 2 Portuguese Water Dogs Walter & Victor, and is a competitive tennis player, sailor, and distance swimmer.
